Garter Springs

Garter Spring Picture

Garter Springs are helical compression or extension springs that have the ends connected together to form a circle and exert a radial force. Garter springs are usually designed with as low a rate as possible to allow for a nearly constant force throughout its application. They can be assembled by a variety of different ways such as interlocking loops, staking, soldering, or screwing one end into the other. Regardless of the method used for assembly, the joint strength must be such that it will not separate when the spring is extended to its maximum diameter. Garter Springs are used mainly in oil seals. They may also be used as small motor belts, electrical connectors, piston ring expanders and many more. If you would like to request a quote for Garter Springs, please visit our RFQ page.
